Kabul Province

The province spans 4,523 square kilometers and contains 14 districts, including the national capital city, situated at an elevation of 1,908 meters.

The region became a central point during the Soviet military presence from 1979 to 1989, leading to significant demographic and structural changes in the area.

The population includes multiple ethnic groups, with Tajiks representing 60 percent of residents, followed by substantial Pashtun and Hazara communities in the metropolitan zone.

The local transportation system operates 800 buses throughout the districts, while ongoing infrastructure projects focus on improving the road networks between communities.

The climate allows for more than 300 days of sunshine per year, with winter temperatures reaching -1°C and summer temperatures rising to 24°C.
