Installed in 1955 by Luminosos Parragué company, the sign received official recognition as a National Monument of Chile through Decree 219 in May 2010.

The illuminated sign operates daily, turning on at 9:00 PM during summer months and at 6:00 PM throughout winter season.
The mechanical system includes moving elements and a champagne bottle design, created by specialists who integrated electromagnetic mechanisms into the structure.
