Templo Parroquial de los Santos Ángeles Custodios

The Templo Parroquial de los Santos Ángeles Custodios is a church building in Romanesque Revival style featuring three naves, twin bell towers, and a large dome at the building's crossing point. The structure demonstrates this architectural approach through its proportions and design elements.

The building was constructed in 1884 by Italian architect Ignacio Cremonesi and replaced an earlier chapel that had served the seminary on the site. This transition marked a shift in how the location was used and designed.

The interior displays painted ceiling vaults, stained glass windows, and stone-like plaster decorations covering the brick walls. These ornamental elements shape how the space feels when you step inside.

The building is located near Salvador metro station and remains open to visitors during daylight hours. This central location makes it easy to reach and simple to include as part of a neighborhood walk.

The Main Altar and certain furnishings such as golden angel sculptures and brass lamps were preserved from an earlier 1857 chapel. These historical pieces were integrated into the new structure and remain on display today.
