Yauli Province

The Yauli Province spans across 3,617 square kilometers of mountainous terrain in central Peru, containing ten administrative districts including its capital La Oroya.

The province was officially established on December 10, 1906, during the presidency of José Pardo y Barreda as part of Peru's administrative reorganization.

The inhabitants of Yauli Province, known as Yaulinos, maintain strong connections to mining traditions while celebrating local festivals throughout their communities.

The province connects to Lima through the Central Highway, with La Oroya serving as a major transportation hub for both road and rail networks.

The capital city La Oroya houses one of South America's largest metallurgical complexes, processing copper, lead, and zinc from surrounding mining operations.
