Chubut Province

The province extends from the Andean mountains to the Atlantic Ocean, encompassing 224,686 square kilometers of varied landscapes including glaciers, forests, and steppes.

Founded in 1865, Welsh settlers arrived on the Mimosa ship and established the first permanent European settlements in the Chubut Valley region.

The region maintains strong Welsh traditions through language, architecture, and numerous tea houses in towns like Gaiman, where traditional pastries are served.

The Egidio Feruglio Museum in Trelew displays the largest collection of Patagonian dinosaur fossils, including the remains of Patagotitan Mayorum.

Peninsula Valdes serves as a breeding ground for southern right whales from June to December, with daily whale watching tours departing from Puerto Madryn.
