Torres del Poeta, High-rise complex in La Paz, Bolivia
Torres del Poeta is a high-rise complex in La Paz, Bolivia, made up of four towers, two used as office buildings and two as residential ones. The towers each stand between 34 and 36 floors tall and are clearly visible against the city skyline.
Construction of the complex began in 2012, and for several years after completion it was considered Bolivia's tallest building. In 2022, another tower in the country surpassed it and took over that title.
Several community organizations shape how this place operates and connects to local life in the city. The presence of these groups makes the space feel rooted in the neighborhood's values and concerns.
The complex contains a shopping mall that has been open since 2018, offering retail shops and parking for visitors. It is easy to move on foot between the towers and the shopping area.
At the entrance to the complex stands Casa Goitia, a historic house from an earlier period that forms part of a heritage ensemble. This older building next to the towers shows how different eras of urban development can meet at the same spot.
