Jayapura Regency

Jayapura Regency is an administrative district in Papua, Indonesia, encompassing coastal areas, mountainous terrain, and several administrative divisions. The region includes smaller settlements and communities scattered across the territory with their own local governance structures.

The regency underwent major administrative changes in 2002 when eastern and western portions were separated to establish new independent districts. This division reshaped its current boundaries and administrative structure.
