World on Wheels, Roller rink in Mid-City, Los Angeles, US
World on Wheels is a roller skating facility located at Venice and San Vicente boulevards in Los Angeles. The venue features a large central rink with smooth flooring and professional sound equipment designed for music events.
The facility opened in 1981 during the roller skating boom and operated continuously until 2013. Following a closure, it reopened in 2017 with backing from rapper Nipsey Hussle.
The rink served as a gathering place where different communities came together for regular Hip-Hop and R&B nights. These events shaped the local skating and dance culture in meaningful ways.
The venue offers lockers for equipment storage and rental skates available in multiple sizes for visitors. Several skating sessions run throughout the day at different ability levels to accommodate both beginners and experienced skaters.
The venue hosted '7 to 7' lock-in events where children could skate through the night in a safe setting. This program offered a protected space during periods when the neighborhood faced safety concerns.
