Playa el Requesón

Playa el Requesón is a coastal beach in Mulegé featuring a narrow sandbar that juts into the Sea of Cortez. This formation divides the water into two distinct areas with different depths and water conditions for swimming and exploring.

This coastal area served as a significant fishing ground for local communities since pre-colonial times. The location continues to support traditional fishing practices that have remained part of the region's livelihood for centuries.

Local fishermen continue their traditional practices along the shoreline, using small boats and nets to catch fish in the early morning hours.

The beach offers camping with basic facilities including toilets near the entrance. Visitors should come prepared for simple conditions and bring supplies for a multi-day stay if desired.

The sand formation creates a natural division in the water, offering both deep areas for swimming and shallow sections for wading.
