Punta Allen

Punta Allen is a fishing village situated at the end of Boca Paila Peninsula with sandy streets and a small pier. The settlement has a sparse layout with basic buildings and limited infrastructure surrounded by protected waters.

The settlement began as a Maya fishing community that gradually grew into an organized village over centuries. This continuous inhabitation reflects a long history of people using this coastal area.

The community's way of life revolves around fishing traditions that shape daily routines and local identity. These methods have been passed down through families and remain central to how people interact with the sea.

Electricity is available only during set hours, which affects daily routines and what visitors can do. A few small shops offer basic supplies, but bringing essentials from outside the village is wise planning.

The village sits within Mexico's largest protected marine area where coral reefs and mangrove forests support sea life. This rare setting allows visitors to experience intact ecosystems up close.
