Nasher Sculpture Center, Modern sculpture museum in Dallas Arts District, United States

The Nasher Sculpture Center is a modern art museum in Dallas's Arts District featuring five pavilions with Italian travertine walls and glass facades. These structures connect indoor galleries with outdoor areas and display a collection of more than 300 sculptures spanning different periods.

The collection was established by Raymond and Patsy Nasher starting in 1950, evolving from pre-Columbian art from Mexico into modern and contemporary sculptures. The current building was created as a dedicated institution to showcase this expanded collection.

The center displays works by renowned artists such as Jean Arp, Henry Moore, and Joan Miró that visitors encounter both indoors and in outdoor spaces. These pieces shape the character of the place and invite contemplation throughout the grounds.

The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday for visitors, with free or low-cost admission options available. Parking is available nearby and the grounds are easy to explore on foot.

The building features a specialized glass ceiling that channels natural light into the galleries while protecting artworks from excessive light and weather damage. This thoughtful design allows visitors to enjoy sculptures in both interior and outdoor settings while maintaining preservation standards.
