If You Had Wings

If You Had Wings was a dark ride in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom where guests traveled in two-person Omnimover vehicles through projected scenes of Caribbean destinations. The journey was accompanied by an original musical score that enhanced the tropical experience throughout the attraction.

The ride was sponsored by a major airline and operated from 1972 until 1987 when it was reimagined. The sponsor used a service desk in the entrance area to connect with guests following their experience.

Verschiedene tropische Ziele wie Mexiko, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, die Bahamas, Jamaika, Trinidad und New Orleans wurden durch Theaterkulissen dargestellt.

The ride was designed to fit within Tomorrowland's layout, making it easy to locate between other attractions. The Omnimover system moved continuously, keeping the queue flowing steadily throughout the day.

A mirror-filled chamber created the sensation of soaring above mountains while films flooded floor-to-ceiling walls. These effects transported visitors beyond the typical ride experience and into a world of flight.
