Isaac Lee Patterson Bridge
Isaac Lee Patterson Bridge, Concrete deck arch bridge in Gold Beach, United States.
The Isaac Lee Patterson Bridge spans 1,938 feet across the Rogue River with seven deck arch spans of 230 feet each, connecting Gold Beach to Wedderburn.
Constructed in 1932, the bridge incorporates the Freyssinet method of pre-tensioned arches, marking the first use of this technique in the United States.
The bridge features Art Deco elements with decorative pylons at both ends and railings that display simplified architectural elements representing 1930s engineering aesthetics.
The structure carries U.S. Route 101 traffic across the Rogue River near its meeting point with the Pacific Ocean, maintaining two lanes for vehicles.
Engineers established a concrete production facility on the north bank of the river and transported reinforcing steel from Port Orford during construction.
