Mount Fanjing

Mount Fanjing rises to 2,570 meters with three distinct peaks and features ancient temples constructed at its summits. Dense forests cover the slopes, creating a natural landscape with numerous trails for exploration.

The mountain gained religious significance during the Tang Dynasty around 639 AD when early Buddhist temples were first built on its peaks. Over centuries, the site developed into an important spiritual center.

The temples at the summit draw Buddhist pilgrims who visit to engage in spiritual practices and seek enlightenment through meditation. This sacred site holds profound meaning in the religious identity of the surrounding region.

You can reach the summit via a long stairway with thousands of steps or by cable car from the base station. The climb is demanding, so wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.

The mountain is home to the Guizhou golden monkey and Fanjingshan fir, two species found nowhere else on Earth. These rare creatures and plants make it a place of exceptional biological importance.
