Qingshui River Bridge, Suspension bridge over the Qingshui River between Kaiyang and Weng'an counties, Guizhou, China
The Qingshui River Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Qingshui River, a tributary of the Wu River, on the border of Kaiyang County and Weng'an County in Guizhou. Its total length is 2,188 meters, with a main span of 1,130 meters carried by a steel truss deck, and its deck stands 406 meters above the water. The two towers rise 230 and 224 meters.
Construction of the bridge was completed in just three years, opening to traffic on December 31, 2015, as part of the G69 Guiweng Expressway infrastructure development.
The bridge represents modern Chinese engineering achievements in large-scale infrastructure projects and has become a recognized landmark in the region's transportation network.
The expressway bridge reduced travel distance between Weng'an County and Guiyang from 160 kilometers to 38 kilometers, improving regional connectivity and economic development.
The two towers supporting the suspension cables reach heights of 230 and 224 meters, ranking among the tallest bridge towers worldwide for this type of structure.
