Leeza Soho, Mixed-use skyscraper in Lize Financial Business District, China
Leeza Soho is a 46-floor skyscraper in the Taipingqiao subdistrict of Beijing, made up of two separate towers linked by sky bridges and structural rings. The building rises to 207 meters and is recognizable from a distance by its curved, twisting silhouette.
The building was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and completed in 2019 after construction began in 2015. It was the final project born from the partnership between the architect's studio and SOHO China, a developer that helped reshape parts of Beijing over two decades.
This is the final partnership between SOHO China and Zaha Hadid Architects, marking the end of a creative relationship that shaped modern Beijing. The building reflects how the developer has influenced the city's contemporary architecture through bold design choices.
The tower is close to Lize Shangwuqu subway station, which makes it easy to reach by public transport. Since it functions as an active office building, the best way to experience the architecture is from the surrounding streets and public areas nearby.
The atrium running through the center of the building is 194 meters tall and rotates 45 degrees as it rises, making it the tallest atrium in the world. This twist means that light enters the space differently depending on the floor and time of day, giving each level a slightly different feel.
