Mina Salman

Mina Salman is a commercial port in Manama that handles container ships and general cargo vessels from around the world. The facility consists of multiple berths and modern loading infrastructure designed to process incoming and outgoing goods efficiently.

The natural harbor was known as a trading point in medieval times and gradually transformed into a modern facility. The current port structure developed in the mid-20th century and has since become central to Bahrain's maritime commerce.

The port is named after Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa I., linking it to Bahrain's ruling family and their influence on the nation's maritime development.

The port operates continuously throughout the day and can be viewed from designated public areas along the waterfront. The best viewing points are accessible during daylight hours when shipping activity is visible and photography is easiest.

A permanent naval base was established here in recent years, making it a strategic military anchor in the Persian Gulf beyond its commercial function. This military presence distinguishes it from many other trading ports in the region.
