DST Group Building

The DST Group Building is a corporate structure in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, that rises 52 meters (171 feet) with glass and steel construction. It contains 14 floors for office spaces and recording studios, with an open-air sky lobby on the fifteenth level dedicated to telecommunications operations.

Construction of this telecommunications center began in 1994 and was completed in 1995. The project marked an important step in Brunei's development of modern communication infrastructure during that decade.

The building symbolizes Brunei's shift toward modern infrastructure during the 1990s and continues to shape the capital's appearance today. Its steel framework shows how telecommunications was seen as a mark of progress at that time.

The structure sits in the capital's business district and is easy to locate due to its height and distinctive facade. Keep in mind this is an active office building, so access restrictions may apply and the interior may not be fully open to the public.

The building was designed by the renowned architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox, known worldwide for modern designs. This international design approach brought high-quality architectural standards to Brunei's business district at a time when such modern structures were rare.
