Zhaojue Temple

Zhaojue Temple is a Buddhist sanctuary in Chengdu that spreads across a large grounds with multiple halls serving different functions. The main hall houses white marble statues and arhat sculptures, which together with other buildings on the property form a complete religious center.

The temple was founded during the Tang Dynasty under a different name and received its current name during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong. This renaming marked an important moment in the site's development and its significance within the region's Buddhist landscape.

The temple serves as a meeting point between Chinese Chan Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism, with dedicated spaces for visiting Tibetan monks. This role makes it an important center where different Buddhist traditions come together in daily practice.
