Xiamen Bridge

Xiamen Bridge is a road bridge in Xiamen that spans across water to connect different parts of the city. The structure contains multiple lanes in each direction and serves as a major passage for vehicle traffic through the region.

The bridge was constructed starting in 1987 and finished in 1991, representing a milestone in Chinese infrastructure development. Its completion established an important connection that shaped transport patterns across the region for decades.

The General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin, created the traditional calligraphy that displays the bridge's name.

The bridge connects several major routes and serves as a central traffic hub in the city. It experiences heavy vehicle flow during peak hours, so timing a visit or crossing for less congestion is advisable.

The structure features a dedicated bridge head park that earned its designation as a First Level Bridge within China's infrastructure system.
