Bailuzhou Park

Bailuzhou Park is an urban green space featuring extensive pathways, designed gardens, and a central lake where water birds gather throughout the day. The park includes exercise equipment, seating areas, and covered pavilions accessible from multiple entry points.

The park was created through Xiamen's urban planning strategy to add green spaces to growing neighborhoods. This project demonstrates how the city chose to integrate leisure and nature into developing residential areas.

The park serves as a daily meeting place where residents practice tai chi in the morning hours and gather for community celebrations. Traditional landscaping choices reflect local values about how people connect with nature and with each other.

The park is open daily and free to enter, with exercise equipment and covered seating throughout. Morning or early evening visits work best when the crowds are most active and the weather is coolest.

The park blends traditional Chinese landscape features such as bridges and pagodas with a thriving bird population that includes several uncommon species. Visitors can experience both aspects simultaneously, combining birdwatching with observation of architectural details.
