Dholpur House, Government building near India Gate, New Delhi, India.

Dholpur House is a government building in New Delhi featuring a circular layout with white exterior walls located on Shahjahan Road beside India Gate. The Union Public Service Commission now operates from here, conducting interviews for candidates applying to All India Services positions.

The structure was built in the 1920s during colonial times as a residence for the Rana of Dholpur state. It was later converted to serve as a government institution responsible for recruiting civil servants across India.

The building shows Art Deco design from the early 1900s through its curved lines and decorative details on the exterior. You can see these stylistic choices in how the walls and windows are shaped and ornament.

The building sits beside India Gate in a central location and is easy to reach when visiting nearby landmarks. The exterior is visible from the street, but interior access is normally restricted to official business only.

The building features a rare circular architectural design from colonial times, which sets it apart from the straight-lined designs of other institutions nearby. This rounded form was unusual in government construction and made the structure architecturally distinctive when it was built.
