Jaipur House, Cultural landmark near India Gate, Delhi, India
Jaipur House features a central dome, butterfly layout, and red and yellow sandstone exterior with dark wooden paneling in its grand ballroom.
British architect Charles Blomfield designed this residence for the Maharaja of Jaipur in 1936 during the development of Lutyens' Delhi.
The National Gallery of Modern Art established its home here in 1954, displaying collections of Indian masters including Rabindranath Tagore and Amrita Sher Gill.
Located at the end of Rajpath facing India Gate, visitors can explore both the art exhibitions and architectural features of this former royal residence.
The first floor, which remained closed for a decade, underwent extensive restoration to reveal original high ceilings, grand doors, and fireplaces.
