Jeenmata is a religious village in Sikar district, located roughly 29 kilometers south of Sikar town in Rajasthan. The settlement sits surrounded by thick forests near Rewasa village, with an ancient temple serving as the focal point of the community.
The temple was originally called Jayantimala and dates back some 1200 years with multiple reconstructions throughout its history. The structure has been rebuilt and modified over centuries to accommodate growing numbers of visitors.
During Navaratri festivals in spring and autumn, millions of devotees gather to worship the goddess believed to embody divine power. The festivals transform the village into a pilgrimage destination that draws people from across the region.
The village offers many dharamshalas providing basic lodging within easy walking distance of the main temple. It is best to arrive early during festival times, as crowds can become very dense.
Local records mention that Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb donated an eternal oil lamp from his Delhi palace, and it still lights the sanctuary today. This lamp remains one of the oldest objects preserved at the site.
