Guntur East mandal

Guntur East mandal is an administrative division covering the eastern portion of Guntur district, encompassing neighborhoods like Budampadu, Etukur, Gorantla, and Reddypalem. This area serves as a jurisdiction with hundreds of thousands of residents under local administrative oversight.

This administrative area was created in 2018 when the former Guntur urban mandal was divided into two separate jurisdictions. The reorganization established this section as an independent administrative entity.

The residents speak Telugu and maintain local traditions that shape daily life and community gatherings throughout the region. Their customs and celebrations reflect the heritage of the eastern districts.

Local administration is managed by a tahsildar operating within the framework of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority. Government services and administrative matters are handled through the designated local offices in this jurisdiction.

Most areas within this administrative zone underwent removal from municipal designation and became integrated into Guntur Municipal Corporation in 2012. This shift significantly altered governance structures and administrative responsibilities in the region.
