Ark Hills, Commercial and cultural complex in Akasaka, Japan
Ark Hills is a mixed-use complex spanning Akasaka and Roppongi, comprising multiple connected buildings and structures. The site houses offices, apartments, the ANA InterContinental Tokyo hotel, shops, dining venues, and Suntory Hall for performances.
Taikichiro Mori initiated the project in 1986 as a major urban redevelopment in central Tokyo. This development transformed the area into a modern commercial and residential hub for the city.
Suntory Hall within the complex hosts classical music performances and concerts throughout the year. The venue draws music lovers who come to experience orchestral and solo performances in its carefully designed acoustic spaces.
The complex connects directly to multiple subway stations for easy access. Clear signage helps visitors navigate the different buildings and find specific shops, restaurants, or other venues within the site.
The name comes from the first letters of the three neighboring districts: Akasaka, Roppongi, and Kasumigaseki. This naming choice marks its distinctive location at the intersection of these three areas.
