Battambang Province

Battambang Province extends across 11,702 square kilometers of fertile land between Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Siem Reap, and Pailin provinces in Cambodia.

The territory changed hands between Cambodia and Siam until 1907 when it became part of French Indochina through a treaty with Thailand.

The Battambang Circus, operated by Phare Ponleu Selpak, trains local students in acrobatics and traditional performance arts while supporting education for young people.

Transportation within the province includes regular bus connections to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, plus boat services along the Sangkae River.

The province contains 13 districts and one municipality, producing substantial amounts of rice in its fields, making it a central agricultural region of Cambodia.
