Faisal Mosque, Mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The Faisal Mosque spans 5,000 square meters with a central prayer hall topped by an angular peak structure and eight sided minarets reaching 90 meters.
The construction of this mosque began in 1976 with funding from Saudi Arabia's King Faisal and concluded in 1986 following architect Vedat Dalokay's design.
The mosque combines Turkish architectural elements with contemporary geometric forms, featuring marble decorations, Arabic calligraphy, and intricate mosaics throughout its interior spaces.
The mosque accommodates 300,000 worshippers across its main hall, additional rooms, and courtyard areas, with designated spaces for both men and women.
The structure departs from traditional mosque designs by incorporating a Bedouin tent shape instead of conventional domes, set against the backdrop of Margalla Hills.
