Bù Gia Mập is a rural district in Bình Phước province in southeastern Vietnam. The area covers ten communes across forested and agricultural terrain, with its administrative center located in Phú Nghĩa commune.
The district was established on August 11, 2009, created through the administrative reorganization of the former Phước Long district. This reform shaped the current structure of the ten communes that make up the area today.
The district encompasses ten rural communes where residents maintain traditional farming practices and utilize local medicinal plants from surrounding forests.
The district is sparsely populated with nature-focused landscapes, so visitors should expect basic infrastructure and services. The dry season offers the best conditions for exploring the forests and rural roads without difficulty.
The district is home to over 700 plant species, with nearly 300 documented for use in traditional medicine. This botanical diversity makes the region an important natural repository of medicinal knowledge.
