Zlatibor Administrative District

Zlatibor Administrative District is an administrative region in western Serbia with varied terrain and nine municipalities plus one city as its center. The area spans mountainous land and encompasses several smaller settlements and rural zones.

The area was created in 1992 through local government reforms and received its current structure. This reorganization allowed better regional coordination and services in the western part of the country.

The region is known for its 13th-century Mileševa Monastery, which preserves religious and artistic treasures and draws pilgrims to its grounds. The monastery complex shapes the cultural identity of the local community today.

Visitors find offices in Užice and other locations for administrative matters that operate during standard business hours. The mountainous terrain requires some travel time when moving between different municipalities.

Užice hosts the only Teachers Training Faculty in the district, preparing educators for the entire region. This educational institution connects the smaller communities through its academic network.
