Daulat Beg Oldi is a military airbase situated in the Karakoram Range at approximately 5,065 meters elevation, near the Chip Chap River and the Line of Actual Control. The facility operates with a gravel airstrip and helicopter pads that serve to supply military personnel stationed in this remote region.
The site takes its name from Sultan Said Khan of the Yarkent Khanate, who died here while returning from a military campaign in Ladakh and Kashmir. This naming reflects the region's long involvement in major geopolitical movements across Central Asia.
