Nehru Zoological Park, Zoo in Hyderabad, India
The Nehru Zoological Park spans 380 acres near Mir Alam Tank, housing more than 1,500 species of birds, animals, and reptiles in natural habitat enclosures.
Established in 1959 and opened to the public in 1963, the park carries the name of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
The Forest Department of Telangana manages this conservation center, focusing on protecting and breeding endangered species from the Deccan Plateau region.
Visitors can access the park via regular bus services from Hyderabad city center, with operating hours from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM except Mondays.
The facility introduced India's first Butterfly Park in 1988 and features a Lion Safari where guests travel through secured gates in protected vehicles.
