Wangwushan-Daimeishan Geopark is a large protected area spanning two counties that displays towering rock cliffs, deep gorges, and the Yellow River valley. The landscape shifts between mountain regions and river-level areas, where visitors can observe rock formations from different geological periods.
The area contains rock layers going back 2.5 billion years, showing evidence of intense tectonic movements over billions of years. Ancient volcanic landscapes formed around 1.7 billion years ago and left visible traces in the current topography.
