Chiapas, Log flume ride in Phantasialand, Brühl, Germany
Chiapas is a water ride at Phantasialand that features three drops, including one steep descent of 53 degrees, traveling roughly 620 meters through Mexican-themed environments. Six riders fit in each boat and complete the entire course in approximately six minutes.
The water ride opened in April 2014 and replaced two older attractions that were removed in 2011. It was designed and built by Intamin, an engineering company known for water ride technology.
The soundtrack was created specifically for this water ride with Mexican-inspired melodies that play throughout your journey. This custom music shapes how visitors experience the themed environments as they travel along the course.
You must be at least 120 centimeters tall to ride this attraction. The ride can get wet, especially if you sit in the front rows.
The ride moves not just forward but also backward and uses two track switches during the journey. This creates moments where you see the surroundings from unexpected angles.
