Talocan, Top Spin ride at Phantasialand in Brühl, Germany.
Talocan is a suspended spinning coaster at Phantasialand where riders rotate through multiple inversions and spins while hanging below the track. Fire fountains, water displays, and thunder effects accompany the rotations throughout the ride.
The ride opened in 2007, replacing the former Condor attraction that previously occupied the site. It was Europe's first reverse top spin coaster of its kind.
The ride draws from Aztec mythology, referencing Tlalocan, the fourth level of the upper world in ancient Mexican beliefs. This cultural reference shapes how the attraction looks and feels throughout the experience.
Riders must meet height requirements between 1.40 and 1.95 meters, and children under 10 are not permitted for safety. Wearing loose clothes helps with comfort, and expect to get wet from the water displays during the experience.
Since 2015, the ride has been accompanied by music composed by IMAscore that synchronizes with the rotations and effects. This musical component adds a layer to the experience that many visitors don't consciously notice.
