Taron, Multi-launch steel roller coaster in Phantasialand, Germany.
Taron is a multi-launch steel roller coaster at Phantasialand that carries visitors along a track of approximately 1.3 kilometers. Four trains with 16 seats each navigate tight curves and passages between artificial rock formations.
The installation was built between July 2015 and June 2016 on the site of the former western town Silver City. The opening took place in summer 2016 after extensive construction work.
The name refers to a mythological deity and fits within the Old Norse-inspired design of the themed area. Riders experience the journey surrounded by artificial rock landscapes that recall alpine gorges and ancient settlements.
Visitors must be at least 130 centimeters tall to ride, while children up to 140 centimeters need an accompanying adult. It is advisable to allow for longer waiting times on weekends and public holidays for this attraction.
The tracks cross each other at 58 different points for a total of 116 times, giving the ride more intersection points than any other installation of its kind worldwide. This dense layering creates for both spectators and riders the impression of a continuous tangle of tracks and supports.
