Raik, Family roller coaster at Phantasialand, Germany
Raik is a roller coaster in the Klugheim section of Phantasialand that sends riders back and forth through a narrow rock canyon several times. The train travels the route twice in opposite directions, passing over gentle hills and curves.
The ride opened in summer 2016 together with the entire Klugheim area. It replaced a former section and expanded the park's offer for younger visitors.
The name comes from a Nordic mythological figure and fits into the imagined world of Klugheim. Wooden structures and rock formations along the track create a medieval setting.
Children at least 1.00 meter tall may ride but require an adult companion until they reach 1.20 meters. The ride lasts only a few minutes and works well as an entry point for families.
The train is pulled backward up an incline and then released, so guests experience the entire track in both directions. The pendulum effect creates a ride feeling that differs from classic roller coasters.
