Giza Governorate

The governorate extends along the western bank of the Nile River, containing both agricultural lands and desert regions across 85,153 square kilometers.

The territory underwent significant changes in 2011 when the 6th of October Governorate merged with it, expanding its administrative boundaries westward into the desert.

Agricultural practices remain central to the region, with farmers cultivating corn, cotton, wheat, millet, and vegetables in the fertile Nile Valley sections.

The governorate maintains industrial zones in Abu Rwash and 6th of October, connecting to Cairo through railways and highways for economic development.

Iron ore and coal deposits in the Al-Bahriyyah oasis supply materials to the steel plant in Hulwan through a dedicated railway system.
