Pyramid of Sahure

The pyramid rises to 34 meters with a base length of 78 meters, featuring limestone blocks arranged at a 50-degree angle to form its structure.

Built during the Fifth Dynasty around 2480 BCE for Pharaoh Sahure, the pyramid stands as the first construction in the Abusir necropolis complex.

The mortuary temple walls display over 10,000 square meters of relief carvings depicting Sahure's military campaigns, trade expeditions, and religious ceremonies.

The pyramid includes a northern entrance at ground level, leading to burial chambers through a descending corridor system lined with limestone blocks.

The valley temple contains granite palm columns, making it the earliest documented use of plant-form columns in ancient Egyptian architecture.
