Abu Gorab, Solar temple ruins in Giza Governorate, Egypt.

This archaeological complex includes a massive stone obelisk, alabaster basins, and limestone structures on the western bank of the Nile.

The sun temple, constructed during the Fifth Dynasty around 2400 BCE by King Nyuserre Ini, served as a religious center dedicated to Ra.

The temple walls display detailed relief carvings depicting Egyptian religious ceremonies, festivals, and the relationship between pharaohs and the sun god Ra.

The archaeological site stands 15 kilometers south of Cairo, between Saqqara and Giza, requiring early morning visits to avoid intense desert heat.

Nine circular alabaster basins line the eastern wall of the temple courtyard, possibly used for sacrificial rituals during ancient Egyptian ceremonies.
