St. Lawrence Cathedral, Duitama

St. Lawrence Cathedral is a religious building featuring a cross-shaped design with two side aisles flanking a central nave, constructed entirely from carved limestone blocks. The interior contains five marble altars dedicated to different saints, adorning the sacred space with religious art and devotional imagery.

Construction of the current cathedral began in 1873, replacing an earlier church that existed since 1604, and was completed in 1953. The extended building period reflects the changing needs and resources of the community over many decades.
