Harmon Corner, Shopping center in Las Vegas, US
Harmon Corner is a three-story enclosed shopping center at the northeast corner of South Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. The building is known for a tall, wide LED video screen that wraps around its street-facing sides.
Construction began in 2011 after the empty parcel was purchased from Clark County the previous year. The center opened in 2012 and received a LEED Silver certification soon after.
The corner has become a regular meeting point for visitors because the screen is visible far down the street. People often stand outside and watch the changing ads and short video clips as part of their walk along the Strip.
You can walk there easily from the nearby resort hotels, and the entrance is right on the sidewalk of the Strip. Go inside to cool off, use the restrooms, or stop for a quick meal between other stops.
A haunted house attraction backed by a well-known actor once operated on the top floor, but it closed after about a year. The LED screen is also said to be one of the more difficult signs to maintain in Las Vegas because of its height and width.
