University of South Florida Tampa Library

The University of South Florida Tampa Library contains over 1.3 million books, 52,000 electronic journals, and 443,000 digital books across seven floors.

The library began operations in 1956 in the University Center ballroom before moving to its dedicated five-story building in 1961, later expanding to seven floors in 1975.

The Florida Studies Center within the library maintains extensive collections documenting regional experiences, local traditions, and Florida population studies through various materials.

Students and researchers can access 800 databases, utilize 300 computer workstations in the SMART Lab, and reserve group study rooms throughout the facility.

The Digital Heritage and Humanities Collections department employs advanced imaging technology to document heritage sites and create interactive tools for cultural exploration.
