Tradewinds Square, Site of proposed skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Tradewinds Square is a proposed high-rise in Kuala Lumpur designed to reach 775 meters in height. The building will combine multiple towers with office spaces, retail areas, and residential units across more than 100 floors.
Planning for this project began in 2011 on a site previously occupied by a hotel and business complex that were demolished. Development has shown little progress since 2018 and the project remains on hold.
The site is located along Jalan Sultan Ismail, a busy street lined with shops and offices in central Kuala Lumpur. Visitors should be aware that this remains a proposal under planning with no accessible public areas at this time.
The design was inspired by architects to resemble a sewing needle, combining Islamic patterns with nature-inspired forms. If completed, it would be the world's second tallest structure after Dubai's Burj Khalifa.
