Hornillos Waterfalls

Hornillos Waterfalls is a cascade in the Ancash mountains that flows down multiple levels, creating clear pools of water throughout its descent. The surrounding landscape is filled with lush vegetation that thrives in the wet environment.

This site has been valued by local communities for generations as a natural water source. In 2021, concrete stairs, pedestrian bridges, and safety features were added to improve visitor access to the falls.

The waterfall area serves as a gathering place for local communities who maintain traditional connections to the natural water sources of the region.

The trail from the parking area to the main cascade takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes and involves both uphill and downhill walking. Rest areas with seating are located along the route to give visitors a chance to recover and take in the views.

The location features three pergola-equipped rest pavilions strategically placed along the trail to provide shaded viewing spots. These resting areas enhance the visit by allowing guests to fully appreciate the water cascades at leisure.
