Siete Huacas, Archaeological site in Nepeña District, Peru.

Siete Huacas is an archaeological site in Nepeña featuring multiple ancient structures and earthen mounds that showcase the building methods of pre-Columbian societies on Peru's northern coast. The remains include old walls, platforms, and various constructions that developed over many centuries.

This site dates back to the Nepeña culture, which lived in the region more than 1000 years ago and developed their civilization in the northern coastal zone. Archaeological excavations have revealed pottery, tools, and ceremonial objects that show how long this culture existed in the area.

The name refers to seven sacred places where ancient communities performed religious ceremonies and made offerings to their deities. These locations were central to how people connected their spiritual beliefs with the natural landscape around them.

Access is via marked paths that lead to the various structures, with protective barriers keeping the archaeological remains intact. Wear good shoes and prepare for sunny, open terrain since there is little shade on the site.

The site owes its name to the existence of seven distinctly different sacred mounds, each reflecting different phases of local development. Each mound tells a separate story about how residents adapted to their coastal setting.
