Morropón Province, Administrative province in northern Piura Department, Peru
The territory of Morropón Province extends across 3,817 square kilometers, divided by the Piura River with mountains and tropical forests.
The Peruvian government established Morropón Province on January 31, 1936, during the presidency of Oscar R. Benavides, organizing it into ten districts.
The Chulucanas district within Morropón Province produces black and white ceramics through traditional methods passed down through generations of local artisans.
The province maintains temperatures between 17°C and 38°C throughout the year, with the warmest period occurring from January through March.
The province contains medicinal lagoons at Cerro Negro, located six kilometers from Chalaco District, forming natural observation points over the landscape.
