Colta Canton

Colta Canton is an administrative district in Chimborazo Province, located in the mountain highlands of central Ecuador. The area consists of four parishes and is primarily shaped by agricultural land and highland terrain.

The territory was established as an administrative unit following Ecuador's independence and has maintained this basic structure through the years. Cajabamba became its established administrative center in the early period.
