Swing at the End of the World, Recreational swing in Baños, Ecuador

The wooden swing extends from a treehouse situated next to the active Tungurahua volcano, offering views across deep valleys and mountain ranges.

The structure started as part of a worldwide network of 170 seismic monitoring stations installed across 76 countries to track volcanic activity.

Local residents transformed a scientific monitoring station into a recreational destination that draws visitors seeking mountain experiences in Ecuador.

Visitors can reach the location by taking a 30-minute drive from downtown Baños, following E30 highway and turning onto Via a Runtun road.

The swing provides an illusion of floating above an endless drop, while actually having a cement platform underneath for safety measures.
