The Century Plaza Hotel features a curved 19-story structure with a distinctive facade designed by architect Minoru Yamasaki, extending views to the Pacific Ocean.
The hotel opened in 1966 as the tallest building in Century City and became the first establishment to provide color televisions in every guest room.
Presidents, world leaders, and celebrities frequented the hotel, with Richard Nixon hosting a state dinner for Apollo 11 astronauts in August 1969.
Located at 2025 Avenue of the Stars, the hotel completed a substantial renovation in 2021, transforming into the Fairmont Century Plaza with modern amenities.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation listed the hotel among America's Most Endangered Historic Places in 2009, leading to preservation instead of demolition.
